Bike Marking at Active Travel Hub

CQ BID Manager Damien Corr joined with our Street Beat Officer Constable Rea today to visit the Cathedral Gardens Active Travel Hub for a bike marking session. The Hub is a Belfast City Council pilot project to encourage people to walk and cycle more often. Delivered by Sustrans and Big Loop Bikes, the Hub has regular events and services on offer to help you cycle more confidently in the City.

Bike marking is a highly effective, visible deterrent to bike thieves, reducing the likelihood of theft by up to 83%. In the event your bike is stolen, you can report this to the police. If someone is caught with a stolen registered bike, the owner can be traced and the bike returned.

Sustrans offers a programme of free activities, training and events including led walks and rides, on road cycle training, journey planning support and e-bike trials

Big Loop Bikes offers free bike health checks alongside bike maintenance and repair services, as well as used bike sales, every Wednesday at the Hub 10am – 4pm.
