Student Excellence at UU

Since opening in 2022, the Belfast Campus of Ulster University has had a massive impact on the Cathedral Quarter and the wider City. The iconic building project is part of the most significant regeneration project in Belfast since 1998. Footfall from students, staff, and visitors ripples out across CQ, with many businesses having adapted their models for the new market.

As part of our ongoing engagement with the university, we partnered with the Students Union (UUSU) to sponsor a category in their recent Student Excellence at UU Awards which took place in the CQ Social on the Belfast campus. Our prize was a Belfast City Centre Gift Card, which can be used in many CQ businesses.

The UUSU Student Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate those students who contribute so much of their time, energy, and expertise to improving the student experience at Ulster. Congratulations to Alexandra Cromie (UU Belfast) who won the ‘Student Voice Champion’ category with the following criteria:

This person will have contributed a significant amount of time outside of their course to the life of their campus. They will be a passionate, effective and consistent voice for students, lobbying and advocated on behalf of others. They will have given up a large amount of time, and put in a lot of effort, in order to make other people’s lives better!

We look forward to continued ‘Student Excellence at UU’ and developing the relationships between Ulster University and the businesses in the wider Cathedral Quarter area.
