Come to the ‘Quarter of festivals’!

The Chairperson and Manager of Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District (CQ BID) visit the Out to Lunch Festival, which has just completed their fantastic programme across the Cathedral Quarter.

Visiting the Black Box, the CQ BID Chairperson Tzvetelina Bogoina said that she was “delighted” to see that the Teresa Livingstone gig was sold out. She said, “the fact that many of the festival’s over 60 shows had also sold out is testament to the quality of the programme and the hard work of the organisers”. She added, “the BID are proud supporters of the festival which delivered not just quality entertainment but much needed additional footfall at a challenging time of the year.”

BID Manager, Mr Damien Corr said that the Out to Lunch Festival is one of 7 festivals that the BID funds between Christmas and May alone. He said, “whilst the BID’s contribution was relatively modest, it was nevertheless a crucial part of the overall ‘funding cocktail’”.

“Each of our festival organisers carefully monitor attendance at their events and we can conservatively estimate that this cohort will attract combined additional footfall in the region of 54,500, delivering some 232 events. This is on top of the usual crowds attracted by the ongoing offerings by our iconic pubs and venues. The festivals support the investment of the business owners in confirming Cathedral Quarter as the cultural & hospitality heart of the City… the ‘Quarter of festivals’, if you like!
