The Trader Support Service portal (managed by HMRC) is a web-based system which facilitates the submission of customs declarations on goods as they move between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Businesses which are registered on the Trader Support Service portal, and approved for the UK Trader Scheme, can declare relevant goods as not ‘at risk’ of moving to the EU, meaning goods can move between businesses based in GB and NI without being subject to customs duties.
In the coming weeks, The Trade Support Service portal will begin accepting a wider range of customs declarations to allow companies to apply to suspend import duty when moving goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The new declarations include:
• Return Goods Relief (RGR)
• Inward/Outward Processing Relief (IPR/OPR)
• Temporary Admission
• Full Frontier Declaration
At this webinar, The Trader Support Service will provide an overview of the new declarations accepted on the portal and their commercial benefits. They will also outline the process of submitting these declarations and answer both commercial and technical queries on their application in a business setting.
This event will be of particular interest to financial and logistical staff and managers and those in professional consultancy roles as well as business owners and directors. Panellists: Two Senior Members of the TSS, Frank Dunsmuir and Shanker Singham, will be presenting this webinar.
Shanker is Chief Executive Officer of Competere. He is one of the world’s leading international trade, and competition experts and a regular commentator on TV, radio and in newspapers. Frank is the Industry Lead for Customs and Trade at Fujitsu UK and Ireland and a leading expert in International Trade and Customs.
