Something In The Air

Tuesday 28th May, 8pm @ The MAC

On the 15th August 1969, Bombay Street in West Belfast was burned to the ground.

Hundreds of families fled south to refugee camps, escaping the violence, but one young woman lost more than just her home. Fifty years later, she is forced to confront the events of that summer in a way she could never have imagined.

By Brassneck Theatre Company, tickets start from £12.50.

LUNCHTIME LEARNING: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT INSTAGRAM ADS

Wednesday 29th May, 12.30pm @ The Black Box Green Room

The Cathedral Quarter Belfast BID’s Lunchtime Learning workshops are hour-long sessions, designed to provide practical and easy-to-implement digital marketing tips from Northern Ireland’s leading marketers.

Instagram is one of the hottest, fastest-growing social media platforms at the moment and its advertising provides a great way to reach your audience

Building on from Gil’s earlier workshop, we dive deeper into using Instagram ads, looking at how to make them more effective and looking in more depth about the role of images and video in the advertising process.

This event is only for businesses and organisations who are Cathedral Quarter BID members. If you’re not sure or have any questions, drop a line to info@destinationcq.com Tickets are free, but are limited, so please book to avoid disappointment.

TENX9

Wednesday 29th May, 7.30pm @ The Black Box

Tenx9 is a storytelling event where nine people have up to ten minutes to tell a true story from their lives. True stories – not pontificating, editorialising or reflecting – just stories where something happens and the audience is wondering what’s coming next. Each month/event has a theme; this month’s is “Once, when I was young”.

HEALTH

Thursday 30th May, 8pm @ The Black Box

Black Box are delighted to welcome LA noise rock trio HEALTH to Belfast.

Guests to be announced. In 2007, HEALTH walked into a windowless, sweat-stained venue in downtown Los Angeles to record its debut album. The band – then composed of singer/guitarist Jacob Duzsik, bassist/noise-wrangler John Famiglietti, drummer Benjamin Jared Miller and guitarist Jupiter Keyes – was locally renowned for its violent, fifteen-minute live sets. Its squalls of tribal drums, shredded guitar noise and eerily plaintive vocals sounded like nothing else in the city.”

BLACK BOX PRESENTS HEALTH Thursday 30th MAY Doors 8pm // £12 // £10 (BB Members)
