As two festivals close, another one opens its doors…
We’re back with our top five picks of everything happening in Cathedral Quarter Belfast this week. We wave goodbye to a hugely successful Belfast Restaurant Week and a bigger-than-ever NI Science Festival – but the boutique beauty that is Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival returns – plus lots more!

The captivating crowdsourced spoken word event returns to The Black Box this week. Nine ordinary people step up to the mic and they each have ten minutes to tell a real story from their lives – this time around, the theme is “Danger”.
Thurs 28th Feb
Hosted in Clockwise – the brand new co-working and serviced office space in River House – this is the first Fascinating Company event of 2019. Bring your business cards and a big ‘ask’ to this innovative networking event to supercharge your business!
Sat 2nd – Sat 9th March
“Small but perfectly formed”, Moving On Music‘s jazz music festival kicks off in the CQ on Saturday. An expertly curated programme which includes classical influences, modern interpretations, but the common thread is that you will be up on your feet at every gig!

The title is a twist on a well known cultural phrase on these shores, and this show is a powerful tribute by Antrim Community Choir to their foremothers – the women who stood up for the right to vote. Through poetry, prose and song, they tell the stories of these struggles, beginning with the events of 18th November 1910, referred to as ‘Black Friday’.
