Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District said that the recent visit of 300 delegates from The Travel Corporation will have a positive impact on the burgeoning tourism and visitor market for the area.
The Travel Corporation (TTC) selected Belfast for its Global Sales Staff Conference, and saw delegates arrive in Belfast from across the globe.

Gareth Neill, manager of CQ BID said that it has been a real opportunity to showcase the great experience on offer for visitors and tourists.

“TTC is one of the world’s leading travel companies with 42 multi-award-winning brands,” he said. “It organises unique holiday experiences for 1.9 million travellers every year, so it was great they saw what is on offer here in the Cathedral Quarter as well as throughout Belfast.”
As part of the programme a series of ‘street parties’ were held in Cathedral Quarter to experience local food, drink and nightlife.

“The feedback from the TTC delegates was very positive,” said Gareth. “To have influential people from the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand sampling what we have to offer showed what partnership working and the commitment from BID to back the tremendous businesses we have here.”

The visit was supported by Tourism NI. Its Chief Executive, John McGrillen said: “Being able to showcase our renowned tourism attractions and hospitality to TTC delegates from across the globe will allow them to sell Northern Ireland confidently as a tourism destination to the millions of customers they serve.
