Shh! We have a Plan | Cahoots NI at The MAC
Wed 14th – Sun 18th August, 11am @ The MAC
Based on the delightful Chris Haughton book of the same title, Cahoots NI’s Shh! We have a Plan follows the journey of some madcap characters each of whom has a plan – they all want to capture a beautiful bird perched high in a tree!
Sounds simple, but the quest becomes an obsession and the obsession becomes the absurd! Where will it all end? Join us as we follow the characters’ exploits, meet an elusive and magical little birdie and discover that perhaps freedom and kindness are more important than getting what you want at any cost!
Shh! We have a Plan is a non-verbal adventure packed with puppetry, music and magic suitable for age 3+
Cahoots NI productions you may have enjoyed in the past at The MAC include The Elves and the Shoemaker, Under the Hawthorn Tree, Penguins, Danny Carmo’s Mathematical Mysteries and many, many more. Check out www.cahootsni.com for more information.
Duration : 45 minutes
Age Suitability : 3+
The show is on every day from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive.

Wednesday 14th August, 7pm @ The Black Box
Join us in the Black Box for a one-time special conversation with the extraordinary Australian artist Michael Leunig.
Michael Leunig is an Australian cartoonist, writer, painter, philosopher and poet who has been declared a living national treasure in his own country.
Michael Leunig is an Australian cartoonist, writer, painter, philosopher and poet. His commentary on political, cultural and emotional life spans fifty years and has often explored the idea of an innocent and sacred personal world. The fragile ecosystem of human nature and its relationship to the wider natural world is a related and recurrent theme. His approach is regressive, humorous, messy, mystical, primal and vaudevillian – producing work which is open to many interpretations and has been widely adapted in education, music, theatre, psychotherapy and spiritual life.
