The music conference and showcasing event returns tomorrow for what is set to be its biggest and best year yet.
The MAC plays host to the day-long conference which, thanks to funding from Belfast City Council and support from The Oh Yeah Centre, PPL, Northern Ireland Screen and Help Musicians NI remains free to attend, opening it up to aspiring artists as well as established musicians.
Running from 10am until 5pm, the nearly-sold-out programme is packed with talks, demonstrations, workshops and masterclasses from some of the best in the business. Speakers include respected writers, performers, industry executives, marketing professionals, promoters, managers, broadcasters and bookers, with topics ranging from music contract law to pitching your band to digital marketing to writing a radio hit.
Pre-conference registration is now closed; there will be limited sign-up on the day, but some events are already fully registered, so check the website before you head down to avoid disappointment.
The evening following the conference sees the Cathedral Quarter explode into life, with no fewer than 45 different performances and events across 8 different venues, starting from 8pm tomorrow night and continuing until early Friday morning.
Music will be ringing out from every corner of the CQ! It’s perfect timing, with Belfast Restaurant Week taking place until Sunday.
So, if you are starting your weekend early in the Cathedral Quarter with a bite to eat and a free gig afterwards, we would love it if you would include the #cqbelfast hashtag and tag us in any pics and videos you share on social media. We’re “@cqbelfast” on Instagram and Twitter and “Cathedral Quarter Belfast” on Facebook (you can also check in to the Cathedral Quarter on FB!).
