Three former Manchester United stars have paid a visit to the Cathedral Eye Clinic.
The players – Keith Gillespie, Clayton Blackmore and Lee Martin – didn’t have any surgery or treatments.
Along with ex-Man Utd youth player Colin Telford, they dropped in for a brief tour of the premises and to see what the Cathedral Quarter business does.
As well as calling to see the Clinic they were visiting NI to take part in a charity football match.
Gary McArdle, general manager at the clinic, said: “The team – even some of the Liverpool and Spurs fans – were delighted to meet and chat with the three guys during their visit.
“A few interesting tales about their experiences in the top flight of football were shared and our clinicians were able to provide them with answers to all their queries around eyesight and vision and, indeed, how we have invested so much time in producing personalised treatments to provide our patients with the best possible outcomes.
“Someone mentioned a certain Arsene Wenger and a few ex-referees needing to make appointments. It was a very enjoyable and insightful morning all round.”
Keith Gillespie made 289 appearances for Man Utd and won 88 caps for Northern Ireland.
Clayton Blackmore had over 100 appearances for the club and won Premier League and FA Cup winners medals.
Lee Martin scored the winning goal in the 1990 FA Cup final replay.
