"Belfast's Cathedral Quarter is the city's buzzing, creative soul"
In response to the positive feedback from our CPR Lifesaver Workshops held in June, CQ BID is excited to offer a follow-up training session. This session will delve deeper into the topics covered in the previous one-hour workshop, provide more hands-on experience and address additional common emergencies. The Basic First Aid at Work training will take place on Wednesday 7th August from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
This 3-hour course is jam packed with information covering the elements of “Emergency First Aid at Work” (EFAW) in a compressed fashion. The course discusses the roles and responsibilities of the First Aider including legal accountability then moves directly into providing learners with the tools needed to cope with an array of emergency scenarios including:
Triage in a major incident
Learning and applying the primary survey
Responding to an unconscious casualty and the recovery position
Responding to a casualty who is not breathing, CPR & use of AED
Recognising and responding to medical emergencies and life-threatening injuries like
Heart Attack, Stroke, Seizures, Diabetic Emergencies
Major wounds and blood loss, Severe Burns and Shock
Choking
Minor injuries
Procedures for providing information to Emergency Services including the use of SBAR
The course is intensive, fast paced, and enjoyable. Delegates will have opportunity to practice a range of skills and the trainer is happy to take any questions related to emergency first aid that you may have.
