It is somewhat surreal to learn that the Chancellor Rachel Reeves is delivering a support package for Hospitality in England & Wales. The Chancellor said that she was "particularly concerned" about the impact that her budget is having on the Sector and she hinted that there would be "additional support".

 

Meanwhile in N Ireland, following publication of the new Rating lists, we read of the jeopardy and despair expressed by businesses reeling in the face annual increases of up to 280% in the worst case. With Hospitality businesses in N Ireland paying higher rates, wages, food drink and energy costs that their UK and ROI counterparts, we agree with that this represents an existential threat to the industry and that "this will not stand".
