CQ Comedy Festival Is Born!

As part of our strategy to drive additional footfall into Cathedral Quarter, the BID aims to support at least one event per month. Last year, our modest funding helped attract 181,000 visitors to Cathedral Quarter and the City Centre. In addition to growing footfall these festivals cement CQ's reputation as the cultural and creative heart of the city. 

The month of July has traditionally proved difficult to animate. This year we teamed up with our neighbours at the Black Box to curate the first ever Cathedral Quarter Big Comedy Weekender which took place last weekend. 

It is our intention to grow this into an annual Cathedral Quarter Comedy Festival which will become a 'feeder event' for the Edinburgh festival. This year's event features a number of well known faces and will showcase the very best of up and coming Belfast talent,
